FORSTMANN
Forstmann was a maker of woolen yarns and fabrics, but they did not actually produce finished clothing. The company was formed in 1904 by the Forstmann family, German immigrants with a long history of fabric-making. Forstmann products were very high quality, and their label was proudly displayed alongside that of the garment maker's.
In 1957 the company was purchased by textile giant J.P. Stevens. The company was acquired by a Quebec based company, Victor Wollens, in 1999. Today the company is known as Victor Forstmann.
