It's costume time - Get your spooks on!
Have we started a costume thread yet?
Here's my little hippie:

With the exception of the glasses, she is head to toe authentic 70s - Char leather painted vest, burgundy India tunic, artisan brass big heart
pendant, leather art purse, Levi's big-E jeans converted to a skirt in the 70s with burgundy paisley cotton and antique lace trim, and Famolare mary
janes.
Peace, man.

She looks fabulous, Eileen! I love everything, but esp. the vest and that pendant, I think.
I have that purse hanging downstairs in my stock room....
Is the hippie look going to be big in costumes this year? I had a treasure trove full of bellbottoms, vests, chain belts, etc., I was going to bring
over to my co-op booth, but been too sick for over a week to get them over there. Too late now.... have to try for next year.

I don't have one yet from this year, hoping my girls costume shows up on the mail today.
But I do have one from 1967. I'm the cowgirl, Jody is a, umm, I'm not sure. But that's her with a real pumpkin on her head. She actually went out
trick or treating in that!

Your daughter is precious Eileen!

Kiddo wanted to wear her costume to the school dance after school today - but the dance starts IMMEDIATELY after school, so no time to do makeup or
anything (Zombie prom queen!) plus they're not allowed to wear things with tattered hems (??), strapless items or tank tops (she was going to wear a
tank top UNDER the strapless dress so it wouldn't be too risque)
I mean, pretty much NOTHING was allowed to be worn - so what's the point?
So we'll save it for the actual Halloween night.
Instead she's wearing her new favorite 1970's dress

Great photos!! What a gorgeous hippie.
Jody - we always knew you were a party girl...anything for the right look, right?!
My youngest son's principal at his Catholic school is so cool & she let them dress up for the dance this afternoon. Usually a huge no-no in the
Catholic system here. It was era themed this year... his was a bit edgy...but they were okay with it. I will post pics of him tomorrow as he was
undressed by the time I got home.

Yeah, go figure. That huge pumpkin head had to give her a cramp, but maybe a pumpkin facial was in order?!? She's in NY this weekend so not sure
she's seen this thread.

Ava is a doll!!!
We have the Trick or Treater's tomorrow night. Festivities start with a neighborhood costume parade at 5:30 followed by about 2 1/2 hours of
non-stop Trick or Treater's. I live in a flat neighborhood with one main entrance, and people drive here, park and let their children Trick or
Treat. I bought 12 large bags of candy yesterday. YIKES!!!!
I buy that much every year and it is usually just about gone by the end. It is unseasonably warm this year - I hope that doesn't mean even more of
them.

Aww...I love Halloween and the VFG pictures. I don't have any dogs (except one old one) or children to dress up, so I dressed a mannequin in a
vintage Halloween costume. As with Linn, cars will soon start pulling up and dicsharging a million trick or treaters. On a warm Saturday afternoon
like this I expect about 200-300 children, so I loaded up...

Great photos you all!
Halloween has caught on a lot here in the last decade or so, but I haven't seen any kids trick or treating around here, or much decoration except at
the supermarket (yes, it is a bit of a marketing thing here)... but on November 11th starts the carnival season again, which is huuuuge in some parts
of Switzerland, especially the catholic ones. Zurich is protestant though, and so I didn't grow up with much of a sense for the whole thing, but
there was a time when I got quite into, going with my cousin (who lives in a place with a big carnival tradition) to all those fancy dress balls etc.
I mostly liked the whole dressing up and dancing the night away to silly music-thing (this also caused some of my worst hangovers ). My best costume ever was Barbie doll, I actually won the prize for
the best costume!

I wore my pink Miss Elliette dress, which I had bought just for that purpose (I saw it in the shop and immediately thought "Barbie"!) and bought
pink confetti to throw at people. I had a silly doll-like mask to go with the outfit too. People who were fully masked and costumed got in for free!
