C. 1860- 1865. An older style of riding habit with a long basque and peplum popular during the late 1850's worn with a fashionable feathered daywear hat.

C. 1861 - 1863. Wide brim hat suitable for non formal riding. The lady's modified pagoda sleeves mirror contemporary daywear.

C. 1864- 1865. Informal riding habit for a little girl. Light colored straw hat for summer riding. Typical mid 19th century long apron which almost reaches the floor. This little girl is riding in a child's saddle. Children's saddles often had attachments to convert a regular astride saddle for a boy into a sidesaddle for a girl.
