1856 Fashion print of riding habits. Flat wide brim hats and riding jackets with long basques are typical of mid 19th century riding habits.

C. 1858 - 1860 Her fashionable pork pie hat is suitable for non formal riding.

C. 1858 - 1860. Lady wears a hoop under her apron for the studio although hoops were not worn for riding. She wears a wide brim hat with ties which would have been suitable for a matron to wear for informal riding.
