Sets have been popular since the 19th Century, first in the form of unmistakably matching trousseau sets of camisole or chemise, drawers and petticoat, and then in the form of combonations of bra, slip and panties pants. Shown is a small selection of these combinations.
This 1930s print chiffon bra and tap pants set is a soft unstructured bra with black ribbon straps and black lace inset. The tap pants have black lace as well, inset in a V across the front and lace edged hems. The waist on these is elastic. The bra has a ribbon back strap and hooks . Courtesy of pastperfect2
