Charles and Patricia Lester work out of their studio in Abergavenny, Wales (established, 1964). Dyed and printed by hand, the luxurious fabrics are pleated in a process exclusive to the Lesters, reminiscent of Fortuny. The fabric then becomes one of their romantic modern gowns, accessories, home art pieces or costumes (they have branched into designing for opera and television).
