PATRICK KELLY
(1954-1990) Before going to Paris in 1980, Patrick Kelly was a vintage clothing dealer in Atlanta, Georgia. In Paris, he worked as a free-lance designer, and in 1985, formed Patrick Kelly, Paris, a ready-to-wear line. In 1987, he showed his first couture collection, and became the first American to be admitted into the Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne.
He was known for his bold, exaggerated design details, and his clothes always had a sense of fun.
