CHESTER WEINBERG
(1931 -1985) Weinberg studied at the Parsons School of Design (and later taught fashion design there) and achieved fashion fame in the 1960s. He was known for his innovative designs during the 1960s, and was always known for a different "take" on fashions. Weinberg worked at Teal Traina starting in 1963, after Geoffrey Beene left to form his own label. In 1966, he had his own label, but the venture closed in 1970. By 1971, he was back in business, and remained open until 1975. From then until 1981, Weinberg freelanced, most notably at Ballentyne Cashmere, Jones New York, and Hanro. Starting in 1981, he worked at Calvin Klein Jeans.
