YOHJI YAMAMOTO
(1943) Yohji Yamamoto opened his business in 1972, and showed his first collection in 1976. His first showing in Paris in 1981 created much press and established his name, although his designs were often not well understood. Yamamoto's designs are unstructured and non-traditional. They are often layered and asymetrical, and are more likely then not, black. Yamamoto also does a men's line (started in 1984) and a leisurewear line, Workshop.
