KATHERINE HAMNETT
(1948) Katherine Hamnett is an English designer who began her career after graduating art school in 1970. She started her own label in 1979. Many of her designs are based on the work clothing from different cultures. In 1982 she first designed a line of t-shirts printed with large political slogans, which she called, "Choose Life". Hamnett continues to design and to work for the improvement of the environment and for political causes.
