GINA FRATINI
Gina Fratini designed for films and for the stage before starting her label in 1964. She was known for her romantic designs, incorporating ruffles, laces and lavish embroideries, especially in her wedding dresses.
In 1971, Fratini's fame grew when one of her designs was chosen by Princess Anne for her official 21th birthday portrait. Another royal who loved Fratini designs was Princess Diana, for whom she continued to make dresses even after her business closed in the late 1980s.
She designed gowns for Norman Hartnell for a short time, and lingerie with Ossie Clark.
