b. 1935 in Texas. Costa sold sketches to Ceil Chapman and Oleg Cassini among others before getting starting in bridal design. He joined Suzy Perette in 1965, where he went to Paris and selected models to copy. He left Perette in 1973 and returned to Texas. There he bought a share of Ann Murray, and was able to buy out and rename the company in 1974.
He produces his own versions of American and French designer clothes in an affordable range, primarily evening wear. His clothes are bright and bold - often patterned or with high contrast. Costa is known for borrowing very closely from other designers.
