JEAN-CHARLES DE CASTELBAJAC
(1950-) In 1968, Jean-Charles de Castelbajac began working as a designer in his mother's clothing business, Ko and Co. After designing for various labels including Pierre D'Alby in Paris for several years, he started his own label in 1970. Five years later he opened boutiques in Paris, Tokyo, and New York.
He has become known for his use of colorful art and printed images, and he perferred working with natural fibers. While designing for his own label, Castelbajac has also designed for Sportmax (1975) and Courreges (mid 1990s).
