In the Summer of 2008, The Vintage Fashion Guild (VFG) and several of its
members worked with Ruby Lane to help create
an online Vintage Clothing
and Accessories Lane at Rubylane.com.
“We have had vintage clothing and accessories on the site for over a
decade, so when we began the redesign in 2008 we added a Vintage Clothing
and Accessories Lane,” says Palmer Pekarek, Ruby Lane’s director of
communications and new business development. “We wanted to go to the
experts in the vintage clothing arena to develop a lane on our site that
was consistent with industry standards and that was extremely searchable.
Several vintage clothing shop owners on Ruby Lane, VFG members, and the
leadership of the Guild helped us create one of the finest online malls
for vintage clothing and accessories.”
On September 15, 2008, Ruby Lane introduced its new site design. This new
design created thirteen lanes that zero-in on collectibles by category.
The new Vintage Clothing and Accessories Lane boasts over 7,800 items from
around the world. These high quality vintage items meet Ruby Lane’s strict
guidelines of authenticity and are backed by our well-respected Advantage
Program.
“We have grown over the past 10 years to become a dynamic community of
more than 2,000 quality online shops from around the world. It is clear
that Ruby Lane has emerged as the most important and respected online
venue for enthusiasts of antiques & art, vintage collectibles and jewelry,
and vintage clothing and accessories,” says Pekarek.
Linda Warren, the President of the Vintage Fashion Guild was a great
resource for Ruby Lane. As a thank you, Ruby Lane is offering VFG trade members
a special offer - from now until September 1, 2009, Ruby Lane will waive
the $75 set-up fee to set-up a shop on the site before that
date. The shop must meet the sites guidelines and be approved by their
review staff. Plus, after 90 days of opening your shop, you will receive a
$20 credit to your Ruby Lane account.
If you are looking to add another venue to sell your items, minimize the
impact of the current economic slump, and/or if you’re looking for a site
widely known and respected for showcasing the finest vintage clothing and
accessories, you may want to consider Ruby Lane.

and even
an Academy Award Nominee. She was known for her vivacious personality,
bubbly blonde looks, and "girl next door" style.
In her later years she retired to a quiet life, and has dedicated
herself to animal rights through the Doris Day Animal Foundation http://www.ddaf.org/ and the Doris Day Animal League http://www.ddal.org/.
We salute this entertainment icon with a parade of fashions from her
heyday, the late 50s through the 60s, so you can get the Doris Day
