Membership in the Vintage Fashion Guild (VFG) is open to experienced professionals in the vintage fashion industry including, but not limited to: sellers, stylists, designers, fashion editors, curators, researchers, historians and librarians of fashion history.
Annual Dues: $35 USD
"The following is a list of Membership Guidelines for online sellers. We review each applicant individually.
Membership Guidelines:
Seller must have at least 100 feedbacks @ 99% positive or higher (feedback from any auction/selling site such as eBay or Yahoo that uses a rating system; all feedback including neutral and withdrawn will be considered). . .
OR 1 Year or more experience in selling vintage on the internet (your website or a mall shop as as Ruby Lane, Tias, Babylon Mall, etc.).
Other Membership Requirements:
- Prefer a majority of vintage items (including clothing, accessories, jewelry, linens and patterns) in sales offerings, but will consider sellers that are excellent in their vintage offerings, even if these are not the majority of their sales. We do have to know that you are dedicated to vintage, and wil judge your application in that regard.
- Quality, honesty, presentation and attention to detail in listings. Listings are to include: clear photos, pertinent garment measurements, accurate/honest descriptions and full condition reports with disclosure of any flaws, issues or alterations.
-Applicants will be held to the VFG Code of Practice which can be found by clicking here or under "Who We Are" on the menu to the left. Please read this carefully before submitting your application.
-Garments are to be listed in the correct categories (1980s dresses listed in the 1977-1989 category, reproductions listed in the vintage reproduction or modern clothing categories).
- Sellers using live models to show undergarments or sheer clothing in overtly suggestive or sexual photographs and/or using wording that is overtly suggestive or sexual will not be considered for membership.
- Professional conduct shown in online postings, if applicable, will be taken into consideration.
Please use the Personal Statement form to let us know what your qualifications are and why you would like to be a member. This is also a great place to let us know what you would, as a member, have to offer the VFG, such as marketing skills, web tech support, etc.
Information about your application, including notification of it being accepted or declined, will be sent from memberships@vintagefashionguild.org, so please supply us with a VALID email address.
