One of New York’s most exclusive department stores, Bergdorf Goodman was established in 1899. It was started by Herman Bergdorf who employeed Edwin Goodman as the house designer and tailor. In the 1920s the store expanded to include ready-to-wear and their famous fur salon. It employed famous designers to create its own house range of quality clothing. Bergdorf Goodman is still in business.
