HOLLY'S HARP

(American, 1939 - 1995) - After opening a boutique in Los Angeles in 1968 and having her collection showcased at Henri Bendel in New York in 1972, Holly Harp (Park) began manufacturing her designs under her own label in 1973. Taking her inspiration from the vintage garments she collected, she is best known for her "rich hippie" looks - romantic layered and draped designs in ethereal hand-painted georgettes and chiffons.

Twice-nominated for the Coty Award, she also created costumes for the movies Cabaret, Sleeper and The Turning Point. Holly Harp was the subject of a retrospective at Decades Gallery in 1992 and her work was included in the Metropolitan Museum of Art's 'Goddess' exhibit in 2003. Holly Harp's career spanned from the late 60's to the early '90's and her designs are highly collectable, prized for their timeless, romantic appeal.
